Welcome to . . .  t6ototoihj  Community Choir

As a wise man once wrote,

"In our society it seems that only a person who has been singled out early as having some special talent and has gone through musical training is encouraged to call themselves 'singers'.

So we eventually stop making spontaneous, joyful noises that we unselfconsciously made as children.
We are no longer comfortable singing because only the real singers are allowed to sing."

time

Session times will be 5pm-7pm on Sundays including long weekends unless otherwise arranged.
Choir meets at East Brisbane State School Hall (cnr Wellington and Stanley Streets)

As you can appreciate, time zooms by, so please come 10 minutes early each week.
With a group of this size it makes it much more enjoyable for all if we can utilise the time well.

We will be learning Black Gospel style songs and chants. This will also include African Gospel as we go along.
Songs may include
Hush (somebody's calling my name) .... Alleluia .... Shine On ..... Sweet Inspiration .... God Gave Me A Song .... Lily In The Valley .... Wade In The Water .... Oh My Lordy .... Song Of My Soul .... Walk In The Light .... Well Well Well .... And many more
We will be expanding our repertoire to include songs in other languages

(a very important part of every gathering)
As the group is large, we ask that you bring your own mug or cup for tea and coffee.

Please wash them and take them home with you each week. Tongues of Fire will provide coffee and teas.

Course fees are normally structured in blocks of 10 sessions which is payable in full at time of enrolment.
Adults: Full ten week term fee is $100.
Casual Rate of $15 is available, but attendance of all sessions in a term is more desirable
for keeping pace - and is a more economical prospect for you.
Interested younger members are also very welcome.
Ages 8 - 16  Full ten week term fee is $50 Casual Rate of $7

Any enquiries concerning Tongues of Fire matters can be referred to the choir managers at choir sessions (not the Choir Leader)

Tongues of Fire is open to anyone wanting the opportunity to be part of a large community choir.

Due to Public Liability and administration restraints, choir sessions may only be attended by those who are officially enrolled. Regrettably, this means we cannot accommodate non-members of the choir, be they friends or children. (If you do have younger children, the choir may be that golden opportunity to have some of your 'own time')

Tongues of Fire operates on the basis of 'ten week terms'. You are strongly encouraged to attend all ten weeks to maximize this opportunity. As fees are paid for the 'term', there can be no refund for individual classes missed by participants.
